It also require proper travel arrangement to feel relaxed and enjoy to the fullest while attending to such activities.

Social Community and Civic participation ndis support can be found in your NDIS plan under CORE and CAPACITY BUILDING support category.




Assistance with Social and Community Participation

This category supports NDIS participants to meet goals relating to participating in community, social or recreational activities. These activities may be provided in a centre or in a community setting.

For an example, this can involve a Disability Support Worker to support you to travel to and attend a music concert.

Also support for activities that are either centre-based or out in the community (e.g. to attend a social group) at standard or higher intensity rates.

Examples of some of the activities under this category may include:

  • Go to personal development courses

  • Be a member and/or join a social group

  • Go for an outing or a holiday

  • Go on a holiday tour

  • Go to shopping, or visit your local hub, club or library

  • Go to watch a movie or a concert, and/or

  • Attend to community events, and/or

This category of support can also be provided in a centre or a group setting and the rates for the activity may vary from individual rates and will be based on staff:participant ratio.



Increased Social and Community Participation ndis 

This category of supports assist you to participate in activities such as tuitions, art classes, sports coaching and similar activities that build skills and independence. 

Activities such as camps, classes and vacation activities that have capacity building components can also fall under this category of supports.
